Amy Lynn Straub is a fashion photographer, director, and artist currently based in Omaha, NE. Amy Lynn developed a passion for photography while creating photo illustrations in her high school journalism class. A class that she felt was her only escape during her high school years. Creating photographs, not simply taking them, gave her a sense of purpose and expression she’d never known before. After high school, she began to experiment with different types of photography. Dabbling in entertainment photography, she began shooting musicians and bands. These shoots gave her the freedom to create her own worlds, occasionally surreal worlds, to tell her stories in.

 

Over time, she developed an intense love for editorial fashion photography for two reasons: there are no rules and it is insanely challenging. In editorials, nothing is too crazy. Nothing is too surreal. But in its execution, details are everything. In the past six years, Amy Lynn has educated herself in her craft, having only taken one intro to photography class in college before leaving to pursue her art, and strives to create art by whatever means available. She has built sets from scratch, scoured thrift and vintage shops, and created outfits from trash bags to try and make the world in her head a reality for others to share in.

 

Amy Lynn has also filmed and directed music videos and lookbooks, and started a clothing brand Declared.
